Min Souther, Ph.D.

Limited Permit Psychologist

About Min Souther, PhD:

Life has its trials. I believe that everyone has the inherent strength to overcome their respective challenges and achieve personal growth. My role is to support you in uncovering and harnessing that inner resilience through compassion and evidence-based tools. I approach therapy with the understanding that each person’s journey is unique and requires an individualized approach. I am honored to be a part of your journey.

My Approach:

My therapeutic style is rooted in empathy and collaboration, aiming to build a trusting relationship where we can work together to explore your experiences, set meaningful goals, and develop practical strategies for change. I am particularly passionate about supporting adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, and substance use. As a therapist specializing in evidence-based therapies, I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in a way that honors your personal values and lived experiences. In our sessions, we will work together to better understand the specific challenges you’re facing and develop customized techniques to address them. Through our work together, I hope to empower you with the tools and insight to foster resilience, cultivate self-compassion, and navigate life’s inevitable challenges with greater confidence and clarity.

Professional Background:

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where I received extensive training in evidence-based therapies for anxiety and depression. I also obtained my master’s degree from Harvard University and bachelor’s degree from Duke University. Prior to joining Madison Park Psychological Services, I worked at Yale School of Medicine where I specialized in outpatient therapy for trauma and substance use. I also previously held positions at Montefiore Medical Center and NYU Langone’s Military Family Center, where I provided individual, couples, and group therapy to adults from diverse backgrounds.
