About Colleen Doyle, M.A.

I believe that through the shared construction of our therapeutic relationship, we will foster a space where you don’t have to face life’s struggles alone. I practice from an open and non-judgmental stance, where I will support you to be both vulnerable and resilient in facing life’s difficulties and exploring all parts of yourself. I am flexible and creative  in the therapy room and I seek to build a space in which you feel empowered to tackle life’s stressors. I believe in the power of joy, whatever that looks like for you, and I strongly believe that doing deep therapeutic work doesn’t have to feel arduous and daunting. Success in therapy looks different for everyone and I look forward to helping you achieve yours.

My Approach:

Having been trained from an integrative orientation, I believe that the best treatment is one that is as unique as the individual seeking it. Drawing from a variety of techniques and theories allows for a collaborative treatment that helps you to accomplish your therapeutic goals. I am trained in a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment-based perspectives, mindfulness, and relational perspectives. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups presenting with a range of clinical issues, including trauma, life stress and transitions, anxiety, eating disorders, depression, and developmental difficulties. I strive to tailor therapy to meet individuals where they are to help them get where they want to go.

My Professional Background:

I am completing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University, where I also earned my M.A. in Psychology. Prior to this, I studied psychology with a clinical concentration as an undergraduate at Boston College. I have held pre-doctoral positions at Northwell’s Eating Disorder Center, the New York Center for Children, the Parnes Clinic at Yeshiva University, and the Cooke School and Institute. I have worked with a diverse range of individuals across the lifespan throughout my doctoral education. I have gained experience with culturally sensitive individual and group psychotherapy, as well as psychological assessments, for a wide range of clinical conditions. My completed dissertation explores a technique for training doctoral students and its effect on trainee therapeutic skills.
